What is TNVR?
About tnvr
TNVR is the common acronym for programs that Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate and Return feral cats to their colonies in the wild. It is considered among the most effective and important ways in which communities may control and manage feral cat populations while limiting growth in the number of feral cats.
Spaying & Neutering
The Importance of Spaying & Neutering
A female cat can become pregnant again right after she gives birth to her litter. Mature cats go in and out of the "heat cycle" seemingly nonstop, generally once every two to three weeks. Therefore, as soon as a cat is in heat, she is able to become pregnant again. Although the typical feline mating season runs from about March into the fall, cats can become pregnant all year long!
Because of this, the feral population will grow exponentially unless a concerned effort is made to spay or neuter all feral and free-roaming cats.
Spaying is a surgical process in which the ovaries of a female cat (or other animal) are removed. After spaying, an animal may not reproduce. Neutering refers to the same thing, removal of reproductive organs, so that an animal may not reproduce, but neutering refers to both males and females.

National Feral Cat Day
October 16
This is a day to celebrate all the kitties out there, no matter where they call home. It’s a way to raise awareness about free-roaming felines and promote trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNVR), the only humane way of reducing outdoor cat populations and to prevent them from needlessly dying in shelters. Community cats can live happy, healthy and fulfilling lives with the help of organizations like Mr. Grey’s Strays and and the donations that keep our rescue running.
